THE MARTINEZ FAMILY

In January 2018 God gave us a miracle, and that miracle was being able to buy 88 acres right on the edge of Vernonia. We didn’t know what we were to do with the land at first but after a year of praying and seeking God’s direction and God’s will, we knew we were called to start a youth ranch and use the love of Jesus and horses to help children come to know Jesus Christ. Though we knew what, we still didn’t know how…. God led us to Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch in Tumalo Oregon and it’s because of Crystal Peaks’ guidance, help and leadership that we were able to start Living Hope Youth Ranch in May 2019 and started sessions in September 2019. We have BIG PLANS for our little ranch, in our little community!!!

JOE MARTINEZ

Founder & Session Leader

Hello, I'm Joe, the caretaker of our wonderful ranch. My passions are family (animals included), nature, God & off-road vehicles. I've always loved taking kids on off-road adventures & teaching them to operate machinery. I’m very excited to offer these activities here at  LHYR. I'm also a fan of mechanics, engineering & fabrication so those activities will be offered soon, as well!

BETHANY MARTINEZ

Founder & Session Leader

Hi, I’m Bethany. I’m a child of God first, then, a mother, a wife, a friend, a daughter and a mentor here at Living Hope Youth Ranch.

My most favorite part of being a mentor is being able to follow the Holy Spirit's lead and just love on each child as they come onto this ranch. I get to show them the beauty that surrounds us and tell them just how loved they are by the King of Kings, and how each of them were made for a purpose by God our Father and Creator.

I homeschool my two kids and together we breed dobermans and mini dachshunds!! Whenever it’s not raining, I enjoy spending time outdoors and being around all of our animals. I actually really enjoy taking care of the animals and making sure they have everything they need, a clean area, and that they are well fed and loved deeply.

My name is Korina! I love animals, people and nature alike. Most importantly, I love Jesus and feel blessed to be involved with LHYR.

I’m in college working toward my Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, to be a certified professional midwife. I serve at a birthing center in Haiti and have a passion for helping birthing families take the lead in their prenatal, labor, and delivery.

I’m most proud and blessed to be a mom and wife. I have four sons and a wonderful husband who goes along with all my crazy ideas to have goats, and renovate our old house by throwing a million project ideas their way!

My hobbies include travel, breeding Sheepadoodles, and swimming in the Caribbean ocean!

TAMORAH SOOK

Board Member

Mrs. Sook is what the students are used to calling me. I’ve worked at Vernonia Elementary school for over 25 years. Teaching reading, math, SEL, or drawing pictures for the kids to color.

Speaking of art, drawing is something you’ll find me doing a lot. My doodles make me happy.

Speaking of happy, well my family makes me happy.  I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart Tim for 46 years and I’m a mother of three wonderful adult kids. I have many grandkids and I’m very blessed.

Speaking of blessed, I also am blessed with my critters and my fur babies. I have one horse, two dogs, and one cat plus whoever shows up at feeding time.

Speaking of time, It’s time for me to go but I’ll leave with the most fabulous news. I'm a Christian, a follower of Jesus Christ, my bestie and my strength and I’m on the board of Living Hope and filling the role of secretary. Hope we can meet someday have a wonderful day
